Big song to accompany a film or something, excellent way to get your debut solo album off the ground.

CD : Jintara Poonlarb จินตรา พูนลาภ - yoo karng ter samuer

Jintara's second album for R-Siam, of course i expect to love this but by how much? A lot. The title track gets us off and running and is a superb mid-paced song with an irresistable beat and melody. Its one of those sort of songs you just track the CD back once you have listened to it so you can listen to it again, and again.

"Kao ma nai ta-na arai" has a similiar effect though not quite as good. "Kid por nong nae der" is a slower track with a relaxed but slightly haunting tone. "Boon maha chart kard ai" is much more upbeat with great instrumentation. Its great morlam period.

Maybe not quite as good as at her best but not that far off and this is better than her first R-Siam release, and even on 90% Jintara is better than a lot of other artists anyway. Its superb, enjoy.

CD : Norradee Srichachol นรดี ศรีชาชล - torn jai luek luek

Norradee's debut from earlier in the year, the title track starts us off, a nice slow dance to get us going. Norradee's vocals are crisp though slightly jarring on the odd note, she does a good job though and matches the decent if unamazing backing pretty well. The album continues with good basic lukthung, "Kularb esarn" is a nice track with a melody and feel so laid back you nearly fall over with Norradee's vocals coming in rich and warm. Great track!

Norradee Srichachol front CD

Following on "Rub kwan taharn-ken" has some nice guitar and a reasonable beat, relaxed like the other tracks. "Tookta din dai" has some interestingly fast vocals which Norradee handles well. Its a good value album with 12 tracks and no duff ones, though maybe no exceptional ones either. As a whole it works very well though maybe nothing you never heard before. Excellent debut none the less.

CD : Noo Meter - kwam ruk kwam wung kwam fhun

Noo Meter has produced a number of big songs on the luk thung scene and this third album from R-Siam looks set to continue the trend. "Nhon pee sua" for example, with it's mid-tempo romantic feel and smooth vocals is a winner which is sure to be heard or seen on radio/TV millions of times. The album starts off with the jaunty "Mai ruk klaeng rork" though which has a nice catchy chorus.

Noo Meter - kwam ruk kwam wung kwam fhun

"Pieng rao tao nun" is another radio friendly slow track that starts off with some lovely piano before heading into big song territory. Another notable song is "Sing tee ter luem kue sing tee chun tum" with it's big production at the start and clear country tones and yet another memorable tune. Basically this album is a winner.

CD : Jukkajun Wunwisar - muer took kwam ruk ha jer

This is Jukkajun's third album for Grammy, i've always considered her a decent but unspectacular artist. Compared to some of her label mates she can often be a bit anonymous, so how is this album? Decent and spectacular and sometimes anonymous. If you are already familiar with her songs then tracks like "Bok muer rai sei jai thao kun" will be no surprise. Good listening but no sparks.

The title track is also a good track, her voice is nice but not as strong as some other artist who can be considered her peers. Basically what i am saying is this album is nice but not essential, it just meanders along nicely with the occaisional high point that delights. Grammy probably don't want to change matters too much but you wish they would sometimes take a chance and come up with something a bit unexpected.
